This is a fantastic place to stay. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. The room we stayed in was spacious and comfy. It had an ensuite with a bath and shower, plenty of towels, a bathrobe each and even face cloths. Soap was provided and shower gel if needed. The bed was large and comfy. There was a small fridge with fresh milk provided daily along with 2 bottles of water and a chocolate bar each. Tea and coffee were also provided in the room. Some handy little additions included a picnic blanket, a torch in each bedside cabinet, a fan, a hot water bottle and a sewing kit. We ate every night in the pub, we didn't intend to, but the food was so delicious, we didn't feel the need to go anywhere else. There was not one meal that we didn't enjoy. The breakfast was amazing as well, we didn't need lunch as we filled up at breakfast time. Breakfast included fresh fruit, cereal, toast and a traditional fried breakfast which you could have all items or just one or two! It's about 10 - 15 minutes from Alnwick and about 30 minutes from Bamburgh. If you have a dog, all rooms are dog friendly, theres a barrel of water outside to top up the dogs water and towels in the entrance, should you need to dry your dog before going upstairs. You are able to take your dog when you eat as well, as there a tables in the bar which are dog friendly. Overall a fantastic stay and very highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived the staff were absolutely lovely and when the lady showed us to our room we were blown away by the size the facilities the cleanliness an amazing place I'm almost reluctant to recommend it in case I can't get booked in the next time I want to go which will be soon we loved it there then we come on to the food not a massive menu and if you listen to Gordon Ramsay that's the way it should be I had the sea bass in a prawn and champagne sauce delicious and my husband Gary had the home made steak and ale pie it was so nice he had it the 2nd night too our compliments to the chefs and breakfast was amazing the owners made a point of coming to talk to us giving us maps and telling us the best places to visit it was our wedding anniversary teat and it was all we could of wanted and more a definite 11 out of 10 from us and we will see you soon and thank you so much

Feeling in need of pampering, booked the Suite which fully met expectations. The room is huge, with large bed and a 'living room' area with leather sofa/arm chairs plus TV with Sky and DVD (plus disks). There's also an Amazon Echo unit, if you wish to use Alexa. I was especially impressed with the pre-stocked mini-bar containing chilled waters and also milk for tea/coffee and snacks. The bathroom has a large walk-in rain shower, but no bath if that's important to you. The dinner and breakfast were both excellent and staff friendly and efficient. Although the room has windows facing the 'main' road, that's a relative term in Eglingham and I wasn't troubled by noise through the night.

I couldn’t fault the quality of service by the staff who were engaging and professional. The evening menu was not extensive but the choice was good with the food being beautifully cooked and presented without any delay. Breakfast set us up for day, again with good choices. Woody particularly enjoyed his sausage! All in all our stay was enjoyable, made so by the kindness, attention and professionalism of the staff and owners, and the ambience created by the stove and the friendliness of the locals. We visited in February, miserably wet and cold, but we’ve every intention to return later in the year when the sun is hopefully out.

This is a classic, dog friendly, village country pub with rooms that caters for locals and tourists alike. The bar and restaurant are both busy and well patronised with a genuine buzz of the local community and we felt immediately welcome. The breakfast was first class and the evening meals we ate were good value and well presented and cooked, too. Ellen, our contact was first class and accommodated our various requests in an efficient and prompt manner. Our dog was spoiled and the facilities for him in the enclosed rear garden were great.
